Self delivery is at the heart of our service which ensures superior operational control together with support from our group businesses, including Polybitumens and Jean Lefebvre UK (Technical Consultancy). This combined capability of manufacturing bitumen emulsions and in-depth technical product knowledge ensures that we identify, develop and deliver appropriate dressing solutions in accordance with environmental needs.

We always work closely with our client to develop advance programmes, identifying all activities associated with the delivery including aftercare to align our works with our clients asset management and highways maintenance programmes.

Surface Dressing

To assist in the design of all our sites, we adopt the use of our innovative digital and AI systems which provides a digital record of each site, linked to GPS to provide a detailed record of the site to assist with walk, talk, build reviews. This system is being adapted, through artificial intelligence, to not only pick up existing road markings and road studs, but to also identify defects to support our teams and our client when developing preparatory works and aftercare schedules.

We are accredited to Sector Scheme 13 which as part of the accreditation ensures that we provide and develop a highly trained and competent workforce. All our operatives have the relevant NQSs apportioned to their job roles, and this also includes all our management and supervisory staff. As part of the sector scheme, we are also audited on an annual basis by an independent certification body to ensure compliance to the scheme.

To carry out our surface dressing we are continually investing in new state of the art plant and equipment, and we own a full fleet of ACMAR computerised binder distributors that can spray to a width of upto 6 metres in one pass, and these are complemented by our uniquely designed ETNYRE chipping spreaders which can also lay the aggregate upto 6 metres. This means that any carriageway less than 6 metres wide can be surface dressed by ourselves in one pass, therefore removing the need for a longitudinal joint which not only removes a potential point of failure but also improves the aesthetic of the site. Another major benefit of dressing in one pass is the increase in productivity combined with the significant reduction in time for the carriageway needing to be closed to traffic, and the subsequent reduction in disruption for the travelling public.

Our highly experienced delivery team are also supported by our programming and permitting co-ordinators, who manage our road space/closure bookings and street works permits. Communication is key, and we always aim to harbour a good working relationship with our clients network management team from day one, reinforcing this throughout the contract. We look to have as much flexibility in our programmes as we can, to avoid any disruption as much as possible. We also pride ourselves on our communications to any residents by means of an information film, explaining the weather related dependency of the process and how we will try to assist them in working around these frustrations should we get hit by inclement weather conditions.
